Skilled nursing care refers to a patient’s need for care or treatment that can be performed only by licensed nurses. An assessment is when information is collected regarding your physical and mental condition to ensure you get the proper care.

Marquis believes that there is no place like home for the medically fragile population. Our Private Duty Nursing department specializes in providing quality nursing care around the clock to individuals that qualify. We work with newborns through to the elderly and will help you bring your loved ones home. In addition to highly specialized care, Marquis also provides the training and support needed to keep your family together. We provide LPNs and RNs and train them to meet your individual needs. We help you navigate the system and work with your insurance company to get you the right coverage.

Medical Social Services are services generally intended to help a patient and family cope with the logistics of daily life with an advanced illness. Medical social services include assessing social and emotional factors related to the patient’s illness and care; evaluating the patient’s home situation, financial resources and availability of community resources; and helping the patient access community resources to assist in recovery. The social worker may also provide counseling to the patient and family to address emotions and issues related to the illness.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is any equipment that provides therapeutic benefits to a patient in need because of certain medical conditions and/or illnesses.

Care coordination involves deliberately organizing patient-care activities and sharing information among all of the participants concerned with a patient’s care to achieve safer and more effective care.
